With an instantly forgettable name, Lacunae Forensic describe their research as “Advanced absence analysis and void documentation services”.

When pushed for a more tangible explanation, via end-to-end encrypted messaging, they copy-pasted the following:
The methodical investigation and documentation of absences, gaps, and voids within physical, temporal, or psychic spaces. A specialized branch of analysis concerned with cataloging what is missing rather than what remains; the forensic audio analysis of impossible places. Practitioners examine the sonic residue of deleted moments, architectural spaces that contradict memory, and frequencies that exist only in the negative channel. The discipline operates on the principle that absence leaves measurable traces—that gaps have geometry, silence has texture, and what has been removed can be more revealing than what persists.
Etymology: From Latin “lacuna” (gap, hole, missing portion) + “forensic” (pertaining to legal/scientific investigation)
Often associated with brief, fragmented audio documentation resembling incidental music or sound effects; sonic archaeology of spaces that never existed.
Anyway, who cares? Lacunae Forensic, in a PR effort to appear less shadowy, have released a 5 minute, self-titled album consisting of 14 songs. Or, not so much songs, but sounds resulting from their deep research and analysis of things that are not there.
They say their research efforts urgently require funding. What they are offering is a ready-made soundtrack, suitable for horror, or science fiction films, released under the Creative commons licence, Attribution (CC BY), allowing “..use, remixing, and adaptation, even for commercial purposes, as long as credit is given to the creator.” They say that the recent disappearance of their Chief Financial Officer, which they maintain occurred outside of their research facility, has left the company in chaos, and appeal to anyone looking to use the music, that they purchase it from Bandcamp.
To coincide with this release, Lacunae Forensic have provided a glimpse into their practices through the IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE, as detailed below, which provides a preview of the songs, and also “evidence of alarming discoveries”, they claim.
But first, and most importantly, Buy Lacunae Forensic’s self-titled album from Bandcamp.
